You will need:
Scones
2 cups all purpose flour
7 tbs sugar
1 tbs baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger
6 tbs cold butter
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
3 tbs half & half
1 large egg

White Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbs powdered sugar
2 tbs milk

Spicy Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbs powdered sugar
2 tbs milk
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 pinch ginger
1 pinch ground cloves

Scone directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lightly oil a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and spices in a large bowl. Cut butter into the dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly and no chunks of butter are obvious. Set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together pumpkin, half & half, and egg. Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients.

Form the dough into a ball.

4. Pat out dough onto a lightly floured surface and form it into a 1-inch think rectangle.

Use a large knife or pizza dough cutter to slice the dough twice through the width, equal portions.

Cut those slices diagonally so that you have triangular slices of dough. Place on baking sheet.

5. Bake for 14-16 minutes. Scones should begin to turn light brown.

Place on wire rack to cool.

White Glaze directions:
1. Mix the powdered sugar [1 C & 1 tbs] & 2 tbs milk together, until smooth.
2. After scones are cool, spread glaze over the scones.

Spice Icing directions:
1. Mix 1 cup powdered sugar, 3 tbs powdered sugar, 2 tbs milk, & spices together.
2. Place icing in a baggie, cut the tip of the baggie and begin to drizzle over the scone.

Enjoy!!

Dad's Steak Marinade

This is my dad [with sweet little Cami] and he makes some amazing steak!! So, I thought it was only right to share the ingredients he uses for his marinade with you.

You will need:
1/2 cup EVOO
1/3 - 1/2 cup Soy sauce
a dash of red pepper flakes [more or less depending on your preference]
2 garlics, minced
salt
pepper

*My dad also adds red wine, but I did that once and used to much and it turned out nasty... so I just don't do that anymore. :)
* You may add more or less of the ingredients depending on how many steaks you are marinating.

1. Thaw steaks, then put the steaks in big zip lock baggie.
2. After that, put all the ingredients in with the steak.
3. Rub together, making sure to get all the ingredients on the surfaces of the steak. Then place in the fridge and let marinate for 3 hours or more.
* My dad sometimes marinates steak for a few days, which makes it really flavorful!  :)
4. Grill it and enjoy! :)

I sometimes ask Taylor to rate the food I've made so that I know if I should keep making it or not. Steak is always a 10! :)
